So today i started with bio cubes instead of NP Pellets.

My Params before the change over:

PH: 8.2
No3: 12
Po4: 0.02
Kh: 7dkh

The cubes a running in a small JNS reactor i added 250grams as i have a 120L tank.

I was wondering the same thing, the instructions said high flow area, a reactor is high flow.

Lets give it a few weeks to check what it does.
I also used Bacitv8 this morining to seed the cubes.
 
give it 7-10 days to start and watch them nitrates drop, after 14 days you should also see PO4 drop slightly

glad to see you have the outlet right near the skimmer pump.
how much are they tumbling in the reactor?

there is no need to seed them, everything they need is right on the cubes, bacteria, food and media

They aren't tumbling at all, it is a 700lph pump at full blast
 
cool, that should be fine, just make sure no dirt gets into the reactor, is there a pre-filter on it?
sorry i know reactors tend to suck up everything

thats the secret to a super tank....
keeping the sump clean is the best maintenance a reefer can do
 
will be watching this one as im trying to find ideas to develop a container for my cubes to fit neatly in my sump..

I think the biggest problem with cubes run in a reactor is that in the event of a power outage the amount of available oxygen surrounding the cubes would be limited in comparason to if they were run in a bag in the sump, other than that if the reactor were gauranteed to work non stop 24/7/365 i think conditions would be ideal?

people think im crazy when i say they must keep their filters clean but finally people are starting to get the gist.....

after all if there is dirt trapped or sitting on the cubes for eg it will reduce their effieciency die to the pores clogging and killing their surface area!

clean sumps are the way of the future and to more effiecient systems in general!
