Hi All,

I have been using Red Sea test kits for some time and find them to be quite user friendly. However, I have recently been doubting the way I read the change in solution for each of the Ca, Mg and Alk test. Please let me know if this sounds correct:

Ca:
Starts with a bright pink color and at a point turns (almost instantly) to a heavy purble-blue or even dark blue : at this point I take my redaing

Mg:
Starts as a bright pink color and at a point turns to dark purple. If you carry on adding titration fluid it will then turn to a dark blue : I take my reading at the first color change (dark purple) - is that wrong?

Alk:
Starts as clear, then turn a very feint blue and at a point turn to a yellow/tan color : at this point I take my reading

I think the way I am doing Ca is correct but not so sure about the Mg and Alk.

Please assist ....

Thanks

Alk: initial colour change is your reading / calculation point.
Ca, read when blue remains blue for 20 seconds.
Mg: read when colour changes

seems I was doing my Magnesium and Alkalinity test incorrectly .... will do them again a little later

It is a bit confusing at first,
specially that some of the colors that you see in the video are different to what you get,
But after some times you will get the hang of it.
