Hi everyone.

Please tell me the Hagen "Nutrifin Master Test Kit" was worth the ridiculous amount of money I spent on it today? (It looks impressive, like a scientist's tool box!)

Whim buy, should have asked you all first, I know. But a mate was at a pet shop in George (cannot get any marine test kits here in Knysna), phoned me, and I had to make a quick decision.

Hope it lasts long!?

Hi @AquaLene, welcome to masa (dont think ive welcomed you before)
Well, if i can give my honest opinion...
You can definitely use it for marine testing, but i just think they have way too many freshwater specific test included to make it worth the extra money.
The Phosphate, Calcium, Nitrate, pH High Range & Carbonate Hardness you will use for the rest of your marine keeping years, but the
Nitrite, Ammonia, pH Low Range,General Hardness, and Iron is aimed more at freshwater tank keeping.
What did you pay for it if i might ask?
If it is anything under R1000, i wouldnt say it was too bad:whistling:

Hi @Visser

Thanks for the welcome and the info!:)

Paid R1250 for it, it was the only marine testing kit they had in stock. I never realised there were freshwater tests as part of it until it arrived (although I have f/w kits as I have three fresh water tanks, at least it ultimately they won't be wasted.) As long as it is a good quality kit that will last for long and not expire before I use it all, I'll be a happy camper.

Lol, i dont think its a bad kit at all... Just not sure about the testing accuracy as i have never used them. Please let us know what your testing results are with them.
Thanks

In future look into having things shipped to you. Alot of the Sponsers will ship these days and shipping prices are very reasonable.

Yip, there are lots of marine shops that will ship at very good prices.
Jungle aquatics (ships for free)
Reef aquatics
Pet stop etc...
Read up on reviews or ask us here on masa which products are the preferred/best & then buy from the sponsors that are willing to deliver.
Their prices are all more or less the same on most hardware, so take the one you like & stick with them.

Many thanks for the advice @459b and @Visser. That is good news indeed, I will look into the sponsors.
