I've noticed that my LTA becoming very white during the past week. The coralline on my LR also turned white. I've been doing marine for 11 months now, but Anemone's for a month

All my parameter were fine excepted the temperature. So during the past week I slowly got it down to 25/26. It as about 30 a week ago. I bought the tank from someone else with the Anemone's in it. I have the tank for 6 weeks now. So bleaching started on week 5. I've changed my 2 x T8's to 2 x T5's about 4 weeks ago. Could it be the sudden light intensity?

I went to a few LFS over the weekend and they recommend Purple Up for the coralline, dosing it every day. And then Special Blend for to better water conditions. I also give Fuel as food twice a week.

I feed my Anemone's twice a week mussel, calamari or fish. About 4-5 small pea size bits. I've read on other forum's that only 1 pea size of food per feeding. They don't have gaping mouths before a feeding and there is also no expulsion of the stomachs contents. The LTA is a bit smaller than normal and not fully opened. The other White Magnificent Anemone doesn't look bleached.

Must I continue feeding as per normal? Or feed less per feeding, but more often?

For how long must I use the Purple up?

feed once a week, it could be the sudden increase in light too...
when you say params are fine, what is fine? NH4, NO2, NO3 etc

what is Ca, Mg and Alk?

My parameters is:
NH4 = 0
NO3 = 5 (I've started a NO3 reactor and it came down from 10 to about 5)
Ca = 380
Alk = 9
Mg = don't have a test kit yet
Salinity = 1.023
pH = 8.4

at a quick glance your S.G needs to be increased slowly to 1.024-1.026 region, thats too low for me
with that your Ca will improve too and coraline start, also need to check Mg

Thank you I will do that. When I asked the guy at the LFS he said to me not to worry much about Mg, because the test kit is very expensive.

@dallasg How much must I feed them?

I've been reading up a bit and some forums say a whole shrimp or fish, others say again pea size.

What food would be the better option: Fish, mussel, calamari, shrimp? Or must I buy Seachem Reef Zooplankton and add that aswell?

Anemones get the bulk of their energy resources from your lighting and do not necessarily require any feeding...although the odd mussel, hake etc never did harm. Anemones wont over eat so feed once a week in small pieces until it will not accept anymore. I think your issues are due to change of lighting, as well as temp. Stabilize your parameters and you should see a change - also check your mg. The whitening of the coraline algae could also be due to the change in lighting or due to deficiency in calc, mg or alk

@dallasg My parameters taken yesterday:
NH4 = 0
NO3 = 6
Ca = 400
Alk = 8
Mg = 1440
Salinity = 1.023
pH = 8.4
Temp = between 26 - 28

raise salinity to 1025-1026 over a few days
the rest look good

Thank you guys! I will raise the salinity over a few days..

I think it also got diluted by adding RO after evaporation. Temp was also high yesterday, humidity inside closed house. Will run my fan and air conditioning to get it down, my heater is set on 22

Hi guys, it's been a while since my previous comment.

The LTA is still very white and seems to be getting smaller, but open. The coralline growth is also back on the LR, so the Purple Up definitely helped.

All my parameter were fine except the temperature.
NH4 = 0
NO3 = 8
Ca = 450
Alk = 8
Mg = 1500-1550
Salinity = 1.025-1.026
pH = 8.4
Temp = between 26 - 28
I'm still struggling to get it down. I did install 4 fans in the sump area the 18th of January. So during the past week I slowly got it down to 27/28. It is without the fans about 32.

I also bought my second set of T5's, so now I have 4 x T5's in the hood. This is generating more heat in the hood. Unfortunately I can't put any fans in the hood.

I dose Special Blend once a week. I add Aquavitro Fuel and Reef Zoo Plankton once a week and then Live Phytoplankton twice a week (All on different days)

I feed my Anemone's once a week now as recommended by the members. Diet is mussel, calamari, mysis, brine shrimp or fish. About 2 small pea size bits. I've never seen expulsion of the stomachs contents.

Sometimes there is a change in color (purple'ish) at the edges, but then later it will turn back to almost a transparent color .

what are your iodine levels at?
How long have you had the nennie?
how far is the nennie from your lights in cm?
Where is the nennie, under a rock, in the shade?
Take a pic lets have a look.

@Fishcrazy its time to invest in a chiller dude! I lost a lot of my coral because of high temp when I still had a Boyu 550. Fish are hardier to temperature changes but fluctuations as you are describing of 5 to 6 degrees can only spell trouble imvho. Since I upgraded to a RSM 250 with chiller things have got a lot better.

Do you have carbon in your system? Depending on system volume, the 2 anemones might be fighting.

And yes, running up to 32 degrees and you are really pushing the upper boundaries of your corals. If the fans do not bring it down and are able to keep it down, you need to look at alternatives.

Fans work. I got 2 PC fans on my sump. And able to keep it under 25.5

@zippy :
I don't have a Iodine test kit, LFS said to me not necessary.
I bought the tank over in November 2014 from someone else who had the tank for about 3 years with both the Nennie's in.
The Nennie is about 50cm from the lights, the base is under a rock, but there is no shade over the Nennie. The Nennie also wasn't in the shade with it's previous owner.
@RiaanP :
I do have carbon in the system, going to do my monthly replacement of carbon this weekend. Like I said to Zippy, the 2 Nennie's was previously in the same tank with no problems.
The tank cools down to about 27, I don't understand why the 2 CPU fans and the 2 Boyu fans in the sump doesn't cool off like yours. The Boyu fan is about 7cm from the water and the CPU fans about 20cm from the water.
I've included a pic of the CPU fans over the sump. The Boyu fans I've installed on the rib between the Skimmer and the refugium.

my PC fans blows across the sump. Not into the sump.

And sump doors are mesh, allows for air movement.

Plus house insulated with Thermgaurd. Room temperature on 27 and tank on 25.7 (see it went over the 25.5 setting)
Also running Radion LEDs. Helps in that the lightning does not heat up the tank. And now 12:30 on another hot day.

Okay, I understand. I'm just thinking now how to change the directions of the fans. I don't have mesh doors, but I normally leave them open. Is your fans at the back of the sump blowing over the water to the front (out via the mesh doors)?

And how high is the fans from the water level?
